About The Position

The Restaurant Host/Hostess welcomes guests, seats them in a timely manner, shares information about specials and promotions, and manages the waiting list during busy periods. The role also involves thanking guests as they leave, assisting other team members as needed, and following company safety and sanitation procedures. The workplace is described as a non-corporate, family-type environment with flexible hours, overtime available, and no late-night hours. Shift Supervisor and management opportunities are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, and to converse comfortably with customers.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
Engage in friendly conversation while seating guests in a timely fashion.
Advise guests of current specials, new menu items, and promotions.
Manage the restaurant waiting list during high-volume times and set accurate expectations for guests.
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Assist other team members as needed or as business needs dictate.
Adhere to company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
