The Restaurant Host/Hostess will be responsible for controlling the flow of the restaurant through awareness of business needs/volumes, station assignments, breaks, etc. This role requires maintaining established company and departmental uniform, appearance, and hygiene standards, as well as a clean and organized workstation. Duties include completing side work efficiently and accurately, answering phones according to standards, and booking reservations using the company system. The position involves assisting with station assignments, rotation planning, and opening/closing the room. A positive attitude and a smile are essential when greeting customers. The Host/Hostess will manage reservations and waitlists, create seating plans, and follow proper seating rotation. Maintaining menu cleanliness and knowledge of menus and daily specials is crucial. Proactively addressing customer special requests and communicating needs to management and servers is expected. Awareness of dining room activities and knowledge of safety/guest liability procedures are necessary. Use of radios with headsets and earpieces for communication may be utilized, and proper telephone etiquette is mandatory. A thorough understanding of departmental and property offerings, including venue menus, outlet concepts, promotions, and specials, is required. Adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations is also a responsibility. Exposure to casino environmental factors such as secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress is part of the role. Shift assignments may be irregular and cover days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
