About The Position

A Momofuku Restaurant Floor Supervisor is a key member of the Front of House (FOH) team and is an entry-level management position. This position is an opportunity to get on the Restaurant Management track with a well-established brand. The Supervisor may be the first member of the FOH team to enter the venue, or the last person remaining at the end of service. This role is responsible for executing and leading employees in ensuring that the dining room is prepared for service, and that any meal period is set up properly for success. This role ensures that all guests receive an excellent, friendly, and hospitable experience with every visit. This includes but isn’t limited to opening and closing the restaurant, creating the floorplan, printing menus, answering menu questions, processing payments, organizing individual stations, assisting with orders, coaching staff and communicating with guests.

Requirements

  • Experience in high-volume restaurant operations is required in some capacity (management experience is not required).
  • A strong enthusiasm for hospitality and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Restaurant Management are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily set up, break down, and maintenance of the dining room(s), including, but not limited to: turning on the lights, adjusting light and music levels, printing menus, creating the lunch floorplan, cutting staff as business permits, drafting the dinner floorplan, covering any staff callouts
  • Assist with the flow of guests by taking food and drink orders as needed
  • Ensure strict adherence to Momofuku’s Health & Safety Standard operating procedures, Food Safety & DOH standards and protocols
  • Lead pre-shift with the staff
  • Administer quizzing/testing to front of house team members
  • Monitoring and managing all aspects related to Department of Health guidance and regulations
  • Communicate openly and thoroughly with General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Front of House Manager, Chefs, and employees
  • Assure the quality of food and arrangement of dishes are to Momofuku standards, as communicated by management
  • Possess detailed Food and Beverage knowledge of our products and company
  • Maintain proper organization and cleanliness at all times
  • Maintain, clean, and sanitize the dining room and guest-facing areas
  • Cutting staff in real time as business permits
  • Communicate and report to General Manager or Manager on duty any disciplinary or performance infractions that occur during the shift
  • Confident and correct use of Point of Sale system for order entry and payment processing
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
  • Monitoring the status of placed orders and managing the flow of pickup
  • Clearly and politely communicate with guests when delays and/or waits occur
  • Maintain professional and warm guest communications - inside the restaurant or via phone/email
  • Recognize key people in the industry, VIP guests and contacts related to the company and follow company protocol related to their visit
  • Assist servers and bartenders by communicating 86s, menu changes, and/or other food related information
  • Clean and maintain front of house areas and exterior of restaurant
  • Keep open communication with back of house and front of house team
  • Assisting in other front of house areas as needed
  • Coach employees on any changes or deviation from the standard operating procedures
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by openly communicating with management regarding any guest issues
  • General administrative duties, including but not limited to printing menus and ordering product
  • Maintain detailed records of transactions, collect payments, and run daily reports at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for shift activity overall
  • Properly and accurately complete checklists, financial reporting, logs, and order lists as part of End Of Day (EOD) procedures
  • Manage guest complaints, log any incidents (after following proper procedures), and report any severe issues to management immediately
