About The Position

RT Industries is hiring a part-time Rest Area Attendant in Troy, Ohio. The position pays $14.00 per hour and is available on first, second, and third shifts. The attendant cleans indoor and outdoor areas of a rest area and grounds, and trains and supervises client-employees in janitorial work. The role requires a satisfactory background check, a post-offer drug test, a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving abstract, and the ability to perform the physical tasks described in the posting.

Requirements

• Must be able to shovel snow and operate a snowblower when it snows.
• May be required to mow using a riding mower.
• Must have a satisfactory background check.
• Must pass a post-offer drug test.
• Must be able to safely lift, bend, and remain mobile throughout the shift.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving abstract.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work well with others and serve as an appropriate role model to client-employees.
• Must be capable of and responsible for proper use of custodial equipment, supplies, and cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean the interior lobby, service area, and restrooms.
• Maintain the grounds and picnic area, including mowing and trimming grass, removing leaves and snow, picking up litter, emptying trash barrels, cleaning exterior glass, the outdoor fountain and picnic tables, and sweeping the shelter house, sidewalks, and parking areas.
• Train and supervise clients in janitorial work, including safe and efficient use of equipment and supplies, cleaning techniques, time management, good work habits, and task sequencing.
• Communicate problems to the supervisor, work with Supported Employment staff, and assist in creating appropriate training and work programs.
• Use custodial equipment and supplies properly and responsibly.
• Use cleaning chemicals efficiently and safely.
• Conduct a final inspection of each assigned location after completing duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
