About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Design Quality Leader to join our Quality Engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the Airbus Quality engineering team in Europe. As a member of the Quality Engineering team, you will represent the Quality function at the AI (Airbus Canada Engineering Organization) level. You will be required to work in collaboration with AI business partners, in a multi-functional environment, and contribute to the future state of the Engineering core processes definition and deliverables related to design activities. In your role, you will be responsible for integrating internal and external requirements into Airbus processes, while deploying quality standards and risk analysis tools (DFMEA, PPS) to optimize engineering activities and the delivery of design reviews.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in development.
  • Solid understanding of the manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence.
  • Skilled at leading meetings and can easily influence and persuade your audience.
  • Committed and comfortable collaborating in teams on international, cross-functional projects.
  • Fluent in both French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.

  • Experience in high-tech product design or quality control in an industrial field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integration of internal and external requirements within Airbus processes and oversee their strict application across engineering operations.
  • Deploy quality standards (DFMEA, PPS, risk analysis) to continuously optimize design methods and guarantee the required maturity level at every stage.
  • Lead the preparation of design reviews and contribute to major deliverables (DT, QPT, KBD assessments) in close collaboration with technical teams.
  • Promote a "Right First Time" culture by implementing a rigorous quality control framework for all engineering deliverables.
  • Design and negotiate the Product Assurance Plan, ensuring its consistent follow-up throughout the entire program lifecycle.
  • Strengthen process resilience through systematic reviews and proactive risk monitoring.
  • Drive root cause analyses when deviations occur, leading multi-functional teams to coordinate the rapid implementation of corrective actions.
