About The Position

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader – Avionics Systems to join their A220 Program Development team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada). The role reports to the Systems PDT (Product Development Team) Leader. The successful candidate will be part of the A220 Program development team within the Systems perimeter, with the objective of managing all upgrades and evolutions of the A220 aircraft's embedded systems. The team is organized to promote cross-functional collaboration autonomously, supporting one another and learning collectively. The IPT Leader – Avionics Systems will lead a multidisciplinary team to define and deliver the evolution roadmap for the A220 Program's Avionics systems, covering both existing and future variants.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate university degree in engineering, project management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in project management and/or embedded systems development is required
  • Accustomed to working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage project stakeholders and influence internal project clients
  • Very strong communication skills in a multicultural context
  • Good knowledge of aircraft embedded systems
  • Bilingual in French and English

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree, an MBA, and/or a PMP certification are assets

Responsibilities

  • Define and ensure an evolution roadmap for the Avionics systems
  • Ensure that all modifications required by the various portfolios are taken into account, and optimize their implementation to minimize costs and production impacts
  • Define priorities for the development teams and arbitrate between different activities if necessary
  • Ensure compliance with the multi-year budget plan for all IPT projects
  • Contribute to the development schedule for the entire Systems PDT
  • Ensure the definition of development projects with varying levels of complexity
  • Ensure the execution of development projects on time, on quality, within the planned budget, and with the performance defined in the specifications
  • Secure supplier commitment and their contribution to development projects
  • Secure the commitment of all stakeholders, and primarily all suppliers impacted by the required modifications in development projects
  • Ensure the proper application of Airbus project development processes within the framework of an Aircraft program
  • Set up and lead a multidisciplinary development team
  • Deploy monitoring tools for development projects in line with company standards and with the support of the teams in charge of these processes
  • Lead the performance monitoring of ongoing development projects, anticipate risks, and define corrective actions if needed
  • Lead the governance of the IPT's development projects, both for internal teams and suppliers
  • Provide indicators and progress reports to the Systems PDT and A220 Program managers
  • Manage risks and opportunities during development, and implement mitigation plans if necessary
  • Continuously improve working methods for embedded systems development projects on the A220
