About The Position

Solidarité de parents de personnes handicapées (SPPH) is looking for a Responsable des programmes de répit to manage and coordinate all respite programs offered to member families. The role involves supervising and supporting the team of accompagnateur·trices, ensuring the development and coordination of respite programs, and planning and coordinating respite programs.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree (BAC) in psychology, psychoeducation, intervention, social work or any other field related to the helping relationship
  • Have more than five (5) years of experience in psychosocial intervention, social work, helping relationship or any other relevant professional experience
  • Advanced proficiency in French, both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in English, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate openness, tolerance and a deep respect for all people gravitating around SPPH
  • Have a great capacity for listening and sensitivity to the realities experienced by families
  • Be honest and have sound judgment and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated mobilizing leadership and the ability to support and support an intervention team
  • Demonstrate a great sense of organization and rigor
  • Have a real aptitude in solving problems or crises.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the team of accompagnateur·trices
  • Recruit, select and integrate the accompagnateur·trices according to the norms of the organization
  • Ensure their training, their supervision and their support in the realization of the respite services
  • Promote the sharing of accompaniment practices and ensure that these are consistent with the approach and values ​​valued by SPPH
  • Identify the professional development needs of the team and suggest avenues for training or support.
  • Ensure the development and coordination of respite programs
  • Ensure the quality, consistency and accessibility of respite programs offered to families
  • Evaluate and ensure the improvement of respite services to ensure their relevance
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new respite programs or initiatives
  • Collaborate in identifying the needs of families and adapting the programs offered
  • Ensure the connection of respite programs with other SPPH services and activities, in close collaboration with the person responsible for family support
  • Plan and coordinate respite programs
  • Receive and evaluate respite requests from parents
  • Plan accompaniment schedules based on family requests and the availability of accompagnateur·trices
  • Ensure the quality and safety of services offered.
