Where Your Career is a Force for Good! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): This is an individual contributor position reporting to the Manager, Responder Mobilization. This position manages the resourcing of responders to all active operations and supports and assists local recruitment and deployment for all leveled operations. This role develops, engages and manages Disaster Workforce volunteer support teams and completes unit on-call shifts coverage to meet the needs of active operations and serve as a customer service hub for both DROs and regions needing support. This role is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with divisions and regions, including Division Disaster Executives, Regional Disaster Officers, and Disaster Workforce Engagement staff. Core work hours – SECAR/Northeast – 8a-5p ET SWARM/Central Atlantic – 9a-6p ET/8a-5p CT/7a-4p MT Pacific/North Central – 10a-7p ET/9a-6p CT/8a-5p MT/7a-4p PT In addition to core work hours, operational activity may necessitate extended evening and/or morning hours depending on time zone(s) of operational activity. Candidate will also be responsible for 1 week of on-call shift per month, supplemented by qualified and trained volunteers; hours are Monday thru Friday 5p-9p ET and 8a-9p ET on Saturday and Sunday in level 2 or 3 DOCC activation and Monday thru Friday 5p-11p ET and 8a-11p on Saturday and Sunday in level 1 DOCC activation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of program or service.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating presentations and developing training modules.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills, including training and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the resourcing of responders to all active operations and support and assist local recruitment and deployment within region, state, division, or nationally.
  • Manage the recruitment efforts of regional recruitment teams through communication of need, conditions on the job, travel information, and priorities.
  • Responsible for providing timely customer service support to divisions and regions to answer questions, supply reports, assist in local operational recruitment of responders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with divisions and regions, including Division Disaster Executives, Regional Disaster Officers, and Disaster Workforce Engagement staff.
  • Support regions and division in the identification, development and promotion of workforce responders to meet capacity goals commensurate with operational needs.
  • Monitor region and division resource capabilities to support operational decision-making.
  • Develop, engage and manage Disaster Workforce volunteer support teams, including but not limited to Mobilization Managers and Sr. Mobilization Managers.
  • Complete unit on-call shifts coverage to meet the needs of active operations and serve as a customer service hub for both DROs and regions needing support.
  • Support the implementation of systems and processes to enhance the responder experience and improve efficiencies, including user acceptance testing as appropriate.
  • Actively support Disaster Workforce Unit teams when assigned projects or operational pace necessitates additional support.
  • Participate in and support doctrine simplification and updating.
