About The Position

As a Respite Assistant, you will provide personal care and supervision for children with special health care needs in our clients home and out in the community. This role offers flexible hours, with most shifts occurring after 4pm Monday – Friday or on the weekends. It's a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children with special healthcare needs while their regular caregivers get a break. You will engage children in activities creatively and provide 1:1 care in their home or in the community. This position also offers ongoing training and supervision and serves as a valuable resume builder for those interested in social work, education, therapy, psychology, and nursing.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
• Those 18 and over must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required.
• Must pass a motor vehicle record check and car safety check.
• Must be able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance (if providing transportation).
• Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs.
• Must be mobile within the assigned work area.
• Must frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
