About The Position

ChildServe's Supported Community Living (SCL) service is seeking a Skill Development Assistant to provide 1:1 personal care, skill development, supervision, and training for children with special health care needs in their homes and integrated community settings. This role offers flexible scheduling, with most shifts occurring after 4 pm Monday through Friday, or on weekends. The position is PRN (as needed) and offers $19/hr with opportunities available in Cedar Rapids.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable access to the internet.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language.
• Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs.
• Ability to be mobile within the assigned work area.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Willingness to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required (requires passing a motor vehicle record check and car safety check, and providing a valid driver’s license and insurance).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 personal care, skill development, supervision, and training for children with special health care needs.
