About The Position

A dependable, compassionate, and supportive Respite Provider is sought to assist an individual in their home and occasionally in the community. The role supports everyday activities, offers encouragement, and helps create a positive and comfortable environment. The goal is to support the individual’s independence and participation in daily routines so they can remain in their own home as long as possible.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, flexible, with occasional weekends. Pay is $14.13 per hour, with a daily code rate of $207.24 for qualifying shifts of eight hours or longer. The position is in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and is part time.

If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, that party—not Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN)—is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the Direct Care Worker. CDCN assists the Member or Managing Party with recruiting.

Requirements

• Be reliable and dependable.
• Be patient, friendly, and compassionate.
• Be comfortable assisting with everyday household activities.
• Provide respectful, person-centered support.
• Be comfortable working in the home and occasionally in the community.
• Cannot be afraid of dogs.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is considered a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine day-to-day activities, including basic household routines such as making the bed.
• Help with meals and simple meal preparation.
• Assist with care and cleaning of a guinea pig’s cage.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and positive support.
• Help the individual participate in activities and errands in the community.
• Support the individual’s independence and participation in normal daily routines.
