About The Position

Visiting Angels of Claremont is hiring a Respite Private Duty Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the Upper Connecticut River Valley, including Brattleboro, Vermont; Claremont and Keene, New Hampshire; and Springfield and White River Junction, Vermont. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may include personal care, companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, and help with errands. Caregivers must be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Full-time and part-time shifts are available, including 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion for vulnerable people and interest in providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Provide light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
