AdaptAbilities provides meaningful programs for children and youth with disabilities. This is a part-time position at our St. Albert Respite Centre for the Out of School care and High School Transition program. The Out of School Care program is designed for children aged 12 to 17 who require extra support after school. The High School Transition program supports individuals aged 18 to 20 who are continuing their high school education, offering a safe and welcoming environment during after-school hours and exploring independence through experiential learning opportunities. As a Community Specialist (CS), you will be an ally and ambassador, working on the front lines to create a safe, caring, and community-enriched life for individuals and families. Thoughtful program planning and implementation will support participants in connecting with their communities, establishing real relationships, and creating meaningful days and lives. The conscientious CS will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth extraordinary effort to empower people with disabilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.
