Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma with minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, or a Certificate or Diploma in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 2-3 years of related experience, or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 1-2 years of related experience
  • Alignment with AdaptAbilities core purpose and core values
  • Capable leadership, communication, teamwork and positive attitude
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
  • Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required upon hire
  • Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol is required for Team Leads working with adults
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Medication Administration are required

  • Experience working with children, youth and young adults or vulnerable individuals in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads, and oversees direct care front line employees
  • Plans programming, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support
  • Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests, and identities
  • Empower people with diverse abilities to create meaningful days and achieve their goals
  • Identifies and solves problems, building employee capacity in difficult situations
  • Conduct general administration, follow-ups, documentation, and reporting duties as assigned
  • Ensures risk free, stimulating, safe, and supportive environment
  • Perform other job-related activities as required
