Respite Care Provider
About The Position
Consumer Direct Care Network is recruiting a part-time Respite Provider to support a young girl with autism in Bloomer, Wisconsin. The child enjoys active, creative, and interactive activities, including arts and crafts, swimming, gymnastics, parks, jump parks, the children's museum, toys and building activities, painting, and Minecraft videos. She benefits from one-on-one attention, structure, and routine, and is developing social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and flexibility during play. Care will take place in the community and the provider's home, with occasional care in the family's home. The schedule is approximately 8 hours per week plus two additional days per month. Compensation is $10.60 per hour or $156 per day. The Member or their Managing Party is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the Direct Care Worker; CDCN assists with recruitment.
Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with autism.
- Dependable, patient, and flexible.
- Comfortable accommodating occasional short-notice scheduling needs.
- Able to remain calm and supportive during periods of dysregulation.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, engaging respite care in the community and the provider's home, with occasional care in the family's home.
- Plan and participate in recreational and community activities.
- Support social skill development and positive interactions.
- Assist with emotional regulation using calm, patient, and supportive strategies.
- Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional challenges.
