Respite Care Provider
About The Position
Provide compassionate respite care for a young girl with autism in Bloomer, Wisconsin. The child enjoys active and creative activities, including arts and crafts, swimming, gymnastics, parks, jump parks, the children's museum, toys and building activities, painting, and Minecraft videos. She benefits from one-on-one attention, structure, and routine, and is developing social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and flexibility during play. Care takes place in the community and the provider's home, with occasional care in the family's home. The role is part-time, approximately 8 hours per week plus two additional days per month. Compensation is $10.60 per hour or $156 per day. Consumer Direct Care Network assists the Member or Managing Party with recruiting; if hired, the Member is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the provider.
Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with autism.
- Dependability, patience, and flexibility.
- Comfort accommodating occasional short-notice scheduling needs.
- Ability to remain calm and supportive during periods of dysregulation.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and engaging respite care in the community and the provider's home, with occasional care in the family's home.
- Plan and participate in recreational and community activities.
- Support social skill development and positive interactions.
- Assist with emotional regulation using calm, patient, and supportive strategies.
- Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional challenges.
