About The Position

VitalHire is hiring a travel Respiratory Therapist for the NICU (RRT) specialty at an acute care hospital in Portland, Oregon. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a night schedule of three 12-hour shifts, from 19:00 to 7:00. The clinician may float between units and is expected to work every other weekend. The stated patient ratio is 1:15. The assignment uses Epic for charting and requires critical care and NICU experience. Weekly pay is $2,316. Eligible clinicians may receive a housing and meals stipend of up to $1,729 per week, based on the GSA FY2027 maximum for the location. The start date is November 9, 2026, and there are two openings.

Requirements

• Active license or certification for Oregon and the NICU (RRT) specialty; compact credentials are accepted where applicable.
• 1–2 years of recent NICU (RRT) experience.
• Critical care and NICU experience.
• RRT credential from the NBRC.
• State RCP license.
• BLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services in the NICU at an acute care hospital.
• Float between units as needed.
• Work every other weekend.
• Use Epic for charting.
