About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate treatment to patients during vulnerable and difficult moments. The role is full-time on nights at Select Specialty Hospital - Southeast Ohio in Newark, Ohio, with compensation of $35 to $47.10 per hour based on years of experience and a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
