Registered Respiratory Therapist -Full-Time Nights
About The Position
Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide direct respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. The therapist independently applies advanced clinical expertise and scientific knowledge, supports patient safety, and complies with quality, regulatory, and improvement requirements. Respiratory care serves infants and adults and includes procedures such as mechanical and noninvasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, arterial blood gas sampling, and pulmonary function testing. Team members may also participate in rapid response activities and additional clinical services as needed. The department offers a clinical ladder program recognizing high-quality patient care and commitment to respiratory care. The position is for nights, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with every third weekend rotation, three holidays per year, and five weekend on-call shifts per year. Students six months from graduating from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are welcome to apply. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- Associate degree or completion of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Basic Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license or certification.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Students six months from graduating from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program may apply.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the exchange of information through documentation and handoffs, communicating effectively and collaborating with the healthcare team.
- Educate and train patients, families, students, new employees, and healthcare team members about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures, adapting to diverse learning styles.
- Take accountability for performance, seek continuous learning and feedback, manage multiple related duties, and prioritize work effectively.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies; assess, analyze, and troubleshoot as needed.
- Apply advanced clinical and critical care skills for additional responsibilities as needed, including ECMO support, mechanical ventilator support, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary and circulatory rehabilitation, and Basic Life Support.
