About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. The position is full-time nights, scheduled 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., in Gainesville, Florida, with compensation of $31.96 to $43.00 per hour. Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma or GED.
Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of related experience is preferred.
College transcript or diploma as proof of graduation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
