About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate treatment to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a full-time night-shift position in Des Moines, Iowa, with 12-hour shifts. The hospital operates on one floor, so therapists do not need to float to another floor. Compensation is $31.96–$43.00 per hour, plus shift differentials, and the position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus. Day-shift opportunities are also available. Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma is preferred; a high school transcript or diploma or GED is also accepted.
Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
