About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. The position is full-time on the night shift, scheduled from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Compensation is $28.98 to $39.00 per hour, based on years of experience, with competitive night and weekend shift differentials and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma or GED.
Have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
