About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides inpatient respiratory care to chronic, critically ill patients recovering from intensive care and requiring extended healing. The role involves caring for patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions and supporting them and their families through treatment. The position is full-time, based in Gulfport, Mississippi, with a night-shift schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts. Compensation is $29.73–$40.00 per hour, based on years of experience. Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma (preferred), or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Current state licensure.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript or diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
