About The Position
The Respiratory Therapist performs patient assessments and general and critical-care respiratory procedures. The role provides respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, performs blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintains and manages equipment, and provides education to patients and families in adult and neonatal areas.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences.
- Previous work experience in neonatal respiratory care, or successful completion of department-specific orientation, including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
