About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides compassionate respiratory care to chronic, critically ill patients receiving inpatient post-ICU services in a critical illness recovery hospital. The role involves caring for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions and supporting their healing and recovery. This is a per diem position in Miami, Florida, with 12-hour day shifts. Compensation is $43 per hour, with a $6,250 sign-on bonus and shift differentials for night and weekend shifts. The employer provides an extensive orientation program and notes that the position could lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: a college transcript or diploma is preferred, or a high school transcript or diploma or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• A college transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
