About The Position

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital (OSH) is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to work as needed during night shifts (7p-7a). ECB employees are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per month, with opportunities for more hours if desired. Initially, this position will require part-time/full-time hours weekly for orientation. This role is considered safety-sensitive and involves performing respiratory therapy treatments, patient-ventilator management, and administering diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, pulse oximetry, and PFTs. The therapist will also manage cardio-pulmonary/respiratory equipment, ensuring its cleanliness, charging, and stocking of supplies like oxygen. In critical situations such as a code blue, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for intubation.

Requirements

• Current CRT/RCP Oklahoma license required upon hire
• Current RRT credential required for Registered Therapist
• Current BLS and ACLS required upon hire
• PALS required 60 days after hire
• Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current respiratory practices that are unit/age specific.

Nice To Haves

• At least one-year experience in a clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy treatments
• Manage patient-ventilator
• Administer diagnostic procedures including EKG's, pulse oximetry and PFT's
• Manage cardio-pulmonary/respiratory equipment through regular maintenance including cleanings, charges, and stocking related supplies (i.e., O2)
• Intubate during a code blue if necessary
