About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital – Columbus – Vic Village is hiring a per diem/PRN Tier 2 Respiratory Therapist. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.

The schedule is two 12-hour shifts per week, including at least three weekend shifts every six weeks. Compensation is $55 per hour, with a $7,500 sign-on bonus. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and potential pathways to full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred; high school transcript or diploma or GED accepted.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency Respiratory Therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
