Resource Specialist
About The Position
The Resource Specialist helps residents meet service and resource needs, including housing, vocational and educational services, transportation, and other social support services. The role generally works Monday through Friday on the first shift and is based at the High Desert Crisis Walk In Center in Victorville, California. The Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center provides voluntary crisis mental health services 24/7 in an unlocked setting, with stays of up to 23 hours. It serves children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who need immediate crisis care. Services include rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and stabilization. Staff support individuals in transitioning safely to the next level of care or back to the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health.
- Four years of direct service experience with people with mental illness; experience with adults is preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License and an eligible driving record under company policy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with individuals experiencing serious and persistent mental illness, team members, and the public.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Class B driver's license.
