Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing
  • Minimum one year of experience as an RN in an acute care facility, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months

Responsibilities

  • Provide diverse professional nursing services, delivering quality patient care, regulatory requirements, and nursing scope of practice.
  • Collaboratively develop, implement, and assess patient care plans.
  • Directly engage in patient care, utilizing critical thinking to assess, plan, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the patient care team.
  • Continuously educate patients, families, and staff, implementing interventions for optimal outcomes and managing issues in a physician's absence.
  • Demonstrate accountability for care quality, with authority to direct care and utilize resources efficiently, including comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
  • Conducts care assessments and interprets assessment data to determine care needs and constraints in meeting these needs.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of observations, treatments, teaching, medications, care given, patient response, and integrates into plan of care.
  • In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering care to the patient.
  • Implements a plan of care based upon established standards of care/practice, policies, and procedures, incorporating cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related issues.
  • Possesses knowledge of medications, and administers safely and accurately.
  • Appropriately delegates and supervises routine technical functions to non-licensed and licensed personnel.
