Resource Nurse | Medical Surgical
About The Position
MUSC Health is seeking a Resource Nurse for its Medical-Surgical team. The nurse partners with the Charge Nurse to provide hands-on clinical support where needed, support frontline nurses, improve patient flow, and help ensure safe, timely, high-quality care. The role includes supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers; IV access; patient assessments; break coverage; and real-time patient care needs. The Resource Nurse serves as a trusted clinical resource, helping the team navigate changing priorities while promoting teamwork, efficiency, and an exceptional patient experience. The position is with the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), in the Medical-Surgical 6th Floor cost center at LMC. It is an employee role with regular status, paid hourly, and scheduled for 36 hours per week.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license in South Carolina or a current multistate compact RN license.
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support with the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- A minimum of two years of recent acute care Registered Nurse experience.
- Strong medical-surgical clinical experience, prioritization, IV skills, patient-flow awareness, and ability to work independently across changing priorities.
- Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse, preceptor, or similar clinical leadership experience.
Responsibilities
