About The Position

Ensure that correct Resin blends are delivered to each line through the resin delivery system. This role involves following safety, GMP, and HACCP policies, maintaining housekeeping around rail cars and silos, and troubleshooting delivery system issues. The Resin Handler is responsible for connecting railcars to the correct silos, pumping resin, and wearing appropriate safety gear, including fall protection when accessing railcar hatches. The position also includes cleaning the filter system, reading silo reports, and performing weekly silo inspections. A key aspect of the role is adhering to and executing Environmental Health & Safety programs to ensure a safe and clean workplace in compliance with Amcor, local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of resins and additives
  • Ability to use computers
  • Ability to drive a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to unload railcars
  • High school diploma/GED, equivalent, or previous manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying, division, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute ratio and percent
  • Work around moving machinery or electricity requiring a high level of safety awareness
  • Must be able to wear a Appropriate PPE
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted while performing job duties
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 100 pounds
  • May reach, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 66% of the work shift
  • Work in a teamwork environment
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines including wearing mandatory PPE in production areas
  • Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and maintains a clean work environment

Responsibilities

  • Follow and support all Company safety, GMP and HACCP Policies
  • Housekeeping in and around rail cars and silos
  • Trouble shoot when problems occur
  • Hook up railcar to correct silo and pump railcar
  • Wear fall protection gear when getting on top of rail cars to open Hatches
  • Clean filter system
  • Read silo reports daily
  • Conduct weekly silo inspections
  • Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.
