About The Position

The Resin Material Handler’s primary responsibility is to ensure resin and color concentrate are timely provided to all presses. This role involves processing required paperwork and working cooperatively with others to ensure the production of quality products.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Ability to use a digital weight scale.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • All abilities necessary to drive a forklift for full shifts plus scheduled overtime, including but not limited to: Quickly and repeatedly adjusting the controls of a forklift and other PIV equipment used.
  • Must be able to quickly recognize and respond as needed to signals while driving forklift, e.g. people walking around nearby, or different sounds & lights from the forklift.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) to ensure part/material quality meets customer requirements.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • Need vision and hearing abilities necessary for driving.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous material handler experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Certified forklift training (sit down and stand-up).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with incoming Resin M.H. regarding press by press resin status and upcoming mold changes.
  • Follows BOM instructions regarding correct resin and color.
  • Thorough completion of all appropriate paperwork (Mold Set-up sheet).
  • Communicate with shift leadership regarding mold changes.
  • Upon completion of a production job, make sure resins and color concentrate are drained, labeled and weighed prior to storing in designated location.
  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing and warehouse area.
  • Ensure that proper resin is at the conveying area and is ready for use. This includes planning ahead to have material dried (When necessary) at the time the mold goes in.
  • Make sure all resin containers are properly covered.
  • Labels materials (i.e. buckets, boxes, partial Gaylord’s and dryers) used to handle material from one point to another.
  • Maintains a FIFO method of resin utilization.
  • Ensures all partials are used first.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Willingness to cross train other Material Handling duties within the MP&L Team.
  • Assist in period physical inventories.
  • Comply with all Techniplas Environmental Requirements and Policies.
  • Report all Environmental incidents to immediate supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
