Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
Ability to learn and navigate internal systems
Strong attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to adapt to change

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or another business related field
1 to 3 years banking, lending or underwriting experience
Prior experience in residential mortgage, consumer lending or underwriting
Knowledge of banking regulations and lending compliance requirements

Responsibilities

Underwrite first mortgage, second mortgage and consumer loans in accordance with policy, procedure and applicable federal, state and agency regulations
Approve loan requests within individual lending authority
Decision loan applications, including declines and withdrawals, and maintain accurate and complete files
Maintain knowledge of bank and competitor loan products, including terms and conditions
Work closely with originators to resolve issues related to loan applications, documentation and regulatory guidelines
Attend OLC/ELC as required to present and recommend loans for approval
Stay current on changes to industry regulations and underwriting guidelines
Serve as point of contact for the Homebuyer Dream Program
