Eliada is a long-standing nonprofit in Asheville, serving children and young adults since 1903. With a 300+ acre campus, Eliada supports over 600 youth annually through a comprehensive continuum of care, including foster care, residential treatment, housing support, vocational training, and early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students and facilities are monitored according to agency Night Residential Counselor expectations during student sleeping hours, taking necessary action to assure their security, health, and safety. Perform consistent rotation between all programs throughout the shift, monitoring every program every two hours.
  • Implement teaching and individualized clinical/crisis management plans for each student and foster a therapeutic environment/activities. This includes formal and informal staff supervision, staff/cottage observation and feedback, and student-specific meetings.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to night shift staff, ensuring timely completion of assigned duties. Coordinate, supervise, and participate in the nightly maintenance and management of residential programs, ensuring a healthy, safe, and therapeutic environment. Assist and ensure completion of responsibilities by NRC staff, including meal preparation, facility cleanliness, facility organization, and transportation to school.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to NRC staff through crisis management, ensuring student safety through constant monitoring and supervision. Thoroughly and effectively utilize the agency’s crisis intervention model, including the ability to perform physical restraint techniques. Lead staff debriefings of critical incidents at the end of each shift with identified programs and provide feedback to staff on areas needing improvement and recognition of strengths.
  • Manage staff shift scheduling, including monitoring overtime hours. Ensure shifts are run efficiently to enable night direct care staff to follow their assigned schedules. Ensure night direct care staff complete their timesheets at the end of each shift. Provide input and recommendations to the residential leadership team on the training, professional development, evaluation, discipline, and discharge of residential staff to their assigned program. Provide input on internal staff movement into permanent and other positions.
  • Ensure staff complete required mental health program documentation within mandatory compliance standards. Provide feedback and direction to staff on documenting services that meet agency licensure and funding standards. Ensure communication regarding shift events to legal guardians, residential, and compliance staff within agency standards.
