About The Position

The Residential Support Specialist provides assistance and training to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The role is part of the Interdisciplinary Team and contributes to planning services for the people served. The position is described as non-exempt and hourly, with an evening schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 2:30–10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday off. The specialist trains and assists individuals with daily living skills and activities, including cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene. The role also includes completing medical and psychiatric appointment summaries and maintaining the main files and records for assigned individuals. This is a team-based position in a home-like setting. Dependability, integrity, empathy, teamwork, professionalism, flexibility, compassion, and composure in stressful situations are emphasized.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an organization automobile or van.
Act 33/34/73 clearances.
Pre-employment physical and TB screening.
Pre-employment drug screen.
Successfully pass Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
