About The Position

The Residential Specialist implements individuals’ service plans by providing direct psychiatric rehabilitation services and skills training to individuals recovering from mental illness. The role supports residents in their homes as they develop skills necessary for independence and success. The position provides in-person coverage in residential units and may require use of the employee’s own vehicle to travel between locations; company vehicles are used to transport residents. This is a part-time, every-other-weekend position scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The role is non-exempt and reports to the Residential Coordinator.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good driving record.
Ability to respect individual choice in the recovery process and commitment to recovery through psychiatric rehabilitation.
Good verbal communication skills.
Understanding of and respect for consumers’ abilities and limitations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in human service delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide in-person residential program coverage and facilitate rehabilitation services and skills training in residential units.
Perform medication monitoring services.
Assist consumers with implementing Individual Service Plans to reach goals.
Facilitate group and individual activities.
Use company vehicles to transport consumers and help them access community resources.
Use the Electronic Health Record to record services and documentation for billing.
Document activities and services in a log book to support communication between shifts.
Assist consumers with independent living skills.
Communicate with supervisors and other employees to ensure continuity of service.
Engage in crisis management.
Use internal communication systems, including work email and time-and-attendance systems, to clock in and out of each shift and verify time on the last day worked of the pay cycle.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
