About The Position
As a Residential Specialist, you’ll provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home environment. Using a person-centered approach, you’ll empower clients to engage in daily life, make choices, and gain independence. The position is located in Kearny Mesa. The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Monday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pay is $20.00 to $20.65.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Compassion and a genuine enjoyment of helping others.
- Adaptability and comfort working with diverse individuals in different situations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Responsibility, reliability, and pride in creating a positive environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience using case management systems; Therap is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, eating, cooking, cleaning, getting dressed and undressed, mobility, and personal organization.
- Encourage independence by supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
