Requirements

• Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing assessment and training plan information to ensure each individual’s strengths and needs are fully documented
• Carry out assigned training plans to reinforce skills outlined in support documents
• Record and report updates on training plans to help maintain effective services
• Share observations and collaborate with the team to strengthen coordinated support
• Help maintain a safe and supportive living environment through thoughtful selection and placement of personal items
