Requirements

Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Must meet the PA residency requirement.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

Assist with completing assessments and training plans to provide accurate information on individual strengths, likes, and needs.
Help implement Individual Habilitation Plan/Individual Support Plans (IHP/ISP) and conduct assigned training activities to support skill development.
Record and report information to help revise plans and improve services.
Work with interdisciplinary team members to share insights and strengthen treatment efforts.
Document information in individual unit records to support communication across the team.
Help enhance living areas by assisting with selecting, placing, and monitoring personal items that will maximize the therapeutic environment.
