About The Position

This position focuses on delivering psychological services, guiding behavioral support strategies, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to meet individual needs. You will help create supportive plans, provide counseling, and train staff in techniques that promote personal growth and stability. As a Psychological Services Specialist, DHS, you will perform the following duties: Assessment Work: Conduct functional behavior assessments and interpret psychological and behavioral data for care planning. Behavior Support: Develop and monitor mental health support actions that address individual needs and promote positive behaviors. Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling to support emotional well-being and daily coping skills. Staff Training: Train and guide staff on behavioral strategies, data collection methods, and mental health support techniques. Team Collaboration: Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and contribute psychological recommendations to care plans. Documentation Tasks: Maintain reports, monthly notes, and required records that support treatment planning and compliance.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
