About The Position

Southern Home Services, a residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical company, is seeking a Service Plumber for Mission Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. The role involves residential plumbing service work, including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. The plumber diagnoses issues, performs repairs and installations, and ensures work meets quality standards and applicable local codes. Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience using plumbing tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, work in confined spaces, and handle tools for extended periods.
In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Proven customer-service skills, professionalism, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software for tracking tasks and reporting job progress.
Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
Ability to climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, drive, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, perform fine detail work, stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, handle or feel objects or controls, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, with regular exposure to extreme heat or cold and adverse weather such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
Determine whether customer plumbing issues require repairs or replacements.
Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Install, maintain, and repair water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
Test plumbing systems for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
Manage vehicle inventory of plumbing supplies by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
Maintain safety equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Communicate with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Lead apprentices, work with a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
