About The Position

C.M. Mose & Son, a Southern Home Services company, is seeking a Service Plumber to perform residential plumbing service work, including troubleshooting, installation, and repairs. The plumber diagnoses plumbing issues, determines whether repairs or replacements are appropriate, and completes work to high-quality standards and in compliance with local codes. The role requires problem-solving ability and clear communication with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisors. The position also involves maintaining vehicle inventory, keeping tools and equipment operational, and maintaining safety equipment. Work takes place in indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces, and can involve exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather. The job includes physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces. Flexible hours, weekends, and emergency calls may be required as needed.

Requirements

At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial plumbing systems.
No plumbing license is required.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and at least 3 years of driving experience.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience with plumbing tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Proven customer-service skills, professionalism, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software for tracking tasks and reporting job progress.
Ability to lead apprentices, work well on a team, and coordinate with other trades.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, navigate tight spaces, drive, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, and perform fine-detail work.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors and tolerate extreme heat or cold and adverse weather conditions, including wind, rain, ice, or snow.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
Determine whether customer plumbing systems require repairs or replacements.
Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Install, maintain, and repair water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
Test systems for leaks using compressed air and/or water to confirm functionality and safety.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
Manage vehicle inventory of plumbing supplies by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
Maintain safety equipment.
Lead apprentices, work with the team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
