About The Position

Home of the Innocents is seeking a Residential RN Program Nurse to provide safe, evidence-based, and person-centered nursing care to youth in our Placement & Stabilization division. In this dynamic and meaningful role, you’ll deliver direct clinical care, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and help young people navigate complex medical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs, all through a trauma-informed, family-centered lens. The Residential RN Program Nurse provides hands-on nursing care to youth under the direction of the Residential RN Nurse Manager. You’ll assess health status, administer medications, implement physician orders and individualized treatment plans, and respond to acute and ongoing medical needs. You’ll collaborate with physicians, psychiatry providers, Care Coordinators, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure continuity of care that promotes each youth’s health, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
  • Safe Crisis Management certification (provided if not current)
  • Minimum one (1) year of direct care RN experience in acute care, psychiatric, or behavioral health settings

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience working with youth in out-of-home placements
  • Bilingual or Multilingual communication skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with trauma-informed care principles

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care per physician orders and individualized treatment plans within RN scope, including medication and vaccine administration, phlebotomy, wound care, and infection prevention
  • Complete admission health screenings and medical histories; monitor health status and promptly respond to changes in condition, diagnostic findings, and medical emergencies
  • Coordinate appointments, specialty referrals, diagnostic services, and follow-up care in collaboration with physicians, the interdisciplinary team, and Care Coordinators
  • Support on-site Psychiatry Clinic services, collaborating with psychiatric providers and licensed clinicians to address behavioral and psychiatric healthcare needs
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical records including assessments, physician orders, medications, interventions, and treatment responses
  • Deliver individualized health education to youth, families, and team members on medication management, hygiene, wellness, and disease prevention
