About The Position

A Wildwood Registered Nurse (RN) works with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) provides clinical oversight, direct nursing care, and advocacy to promote long-term health, independence, and quality of life. This role centers on holistic, person-centered care and long-term health management across residential, and day-program settings.

Requirements

  • RN degree from a regionally accredited college
  • One year of nursing experience
  • 2 years' experience
  • NYS License as a Registered Nurse
  • Certification in CPR
  • A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage
  • Daily access to an automobile

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates health care services for individuals including direct nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Assesses medical training needs of staff and assures that staff are adequately trained to perform ongoing medical care and treatment.
  • Provides health education and training to the individuals.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary care team to meet the needs of the individuals.
  • Ensures quality standards for nursing services are in compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies and the Nurse Practices Act.
  • Works with community agencies in planning services to meet needs of the individuals.
