About The Position
A Wildwood Registered Nurse (RN) works with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) provides clinical oversight, direct nursing care, and advocacy to promote long-term health, independence, and quality of life. This role centers on holistic, person-centered care and long-term health management across residential, and day-program settings. Wildwood Programs is a provider of educational, residential, employment, and other community-based supports to people with disabilities and their families. Requirements
- RN degree from a regionally accredited college
- one year of nursing experience
- 2 years' experience
- NYS License as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification in CPR.
- A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
- Daily access to an automobile.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates health care services for individuals including direct nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Assesses medical training needs of staff and assures that staff are adequately trained to perform ongoing medical care and treatment.
- Provides health education and training to the individuals.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary care team to meet the needs of the individuals.
- Ensures quality standards for nursing services are in compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies and the Nurse Practices Act.
- Works with community agencies in planning services to meet needs of the individuals.
