About The Position

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking a Nurse for their new Medically Complex Program, designed to serve youth with complex medical needs requiring 24-hour nursing care. Many of these youth may have sensory impairments, Intellectual Disabilities, physical impairments, self-care skill deficits, or require the use of medical equipment. The program utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach to meet individual needs and provide enriching opportunities for growth. The Nurse will play an integral role in admission assessments, individual assessments, collecting health status and medical history, administering medications, and assisting with treatment plans. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with the treatment team, external agencies, and guardians. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Must be a current Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA

Responsibilities

  • Play an integral role in admission assessments
  • Assess individuals
  • Collect and document individual's current health status and medical history
  • Administer medications
  • Assist with initial treatment plans and the treatment planning process
  • Communicate information related to the individual's medical care and behavior with the treatment team
  • Oversight of assigned case load
  • Work collaboratively with team members, external agencies, and/or guardians
