About The Position

Mike Counsil Plumbing & Rooter is hiring a residential plumbing installer in San Jose, California. The role involves installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential plumbing systems and fixtures, as well as helping customers understand and adopt water-saving fixtures. The position requires residential plumbing experience, a valid California driver's license, and the ability to work professionally with clients and independently.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of residential plumbing experience.
• Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures.
• Fasten pipes and tubes using clamps, screws, brazing, soldering, or welding.
• Measure and modify pipes by cutting, threading, or bending them with specialized tools.
• Install and repair household appliances and fixtures, including dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, and sinks.
• Diagnose plumbing problems and resolve issues.
• Repair or replace damaged parts.
• Locate and repair water-line leaks and remove clogs.
• Train new apprentices in proper plumbing techniques and practices.
• Keep detailed notes and prepare work reports documenting projects.
• Test plumbing and installed fixtures to ensure they function properly.
• Educate clients about and install green fixtures, including water systems, reduced-flow faucets, and low-flush toilets.
• Follow state laws and regulations and comply with local building codes.
