About The Position

Benchmark Human Services is seeking a Residential Manager for a home in Dover, Delaware. The role supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs, helping them live as independently as possible, participate in their communities, and reach their potential. The manager assists with supervising, supporting, and training Direct Support Professionals; coordinating care and staffing; and maintaining a safe, caring home environment. Successful applicants attend paid training to obtain required certifications.

Requirements

At least 3 years of management experience.
Experience working with the developmentally disabled population.
Experience working with individuals with high behavioral healthcare needs.
At least 5 years working with IDD and/or DDD clients in a group home setting.
Reliable transportation.
Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute doctor's appointments for individuals served.
Assist in crisis situations.
Help coordinate staffing coverage.
Mentor and teach Direct Support Professionals how to work with individuals served.
Monitor the spending money of individuals served.
Monitor the proper diet and meal plan of the person served.
Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities.
Ensure a safe and clean home for people served.
Develop positive rapport and serve as a role model to create a safe and caring environment.
Assist the Program Coordinator in supervising, supporting, and training Direct Support Professionals.
Document data showing individuals' goals and progress.
Help individuals find and participate in meaningful community activities.
Participate in ongoing professional training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
