About The Position

The Residential Manager Live-In position is a full-time role located in Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility is to provide support and supervision for 5-6 individuals with Intellectual and other Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in a home setting. This role involves teaching residents essential life skills such as cooking, housekeeping, leisure activities, and routine healthcare. The Residential Manager also supervises a team of 3-4 part-time staff members. The position requires overnight stays at the home from Sunday night through Thursday night, with the resident's home address serving as the candidate's residential address. The typical work week is 60-70 hours.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Genuine concern for the well-being of our residents.
  • Ability to supervise others in a positive and professional manner.
  • Team Player.
  • Ability to respond well to change.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Willingness to use the residential home address as the residential address on their driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities (paid or volunteer) and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • One year of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities (paid or volunteer) and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
  • In lieu of experience with disabilities, other relevant experience may be considered with additional on the job training.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support and supervision for individuals with Intellectual and other Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in a home setting.
  • Teaching residents skills in cooking, housekeeping, leisure time, and routine healthcare.

  • Overseeing the residential home budget.
  • Weekly menu planning.
  • Grocery shopping.
  • Providing transportation.
  • Overseeing healthcare.
  • Planning recreational activities.
  • Reporting maintenance requests.
  • Teaching meal planning and cooking.
  • Instructing and assisting with household cleaning, personal care & hygiene.
  • Overseeing residents' health care.
  • Facilitating community integration and providing community recreational activities when available.
  • Supervising relief staff.
  • Documentation on goals and activities.
  • Helping residents develop healthy social habits.
  • Dispensing medication and monitoring overall healthcare.
  • Oversee Food and Gas budgets.
  • Driving a full-size passenger van.
