About The Position

American Residential Services (ARS), a provider of residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services, is hiring experienced Residential HVAC Service Technicians. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing residential heating and air conditioning systems while providing homeowners with a high-quality customer experience. The position is full-time and year-round, with pay listed at $30–$45 per hour. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 may be available depending on experience and interview.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in residential HVAC service, HVAC repair, heating and air conditioning, or a related residential service technician role.
• EPA certification, or the ability to obtain it.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC diagnostics, refrigeration principles, and airflow management.
• Ability to present repair and replacement options to homeowners.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work in attics and crawlspaces and lift heavy HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Service, diagnose, and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioners.
• Perform HVAC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, airflow testing, refrigerant charging, and system performance evaluations.
• Evaluate and recommend indoor air quality solutions, including air filtration, purification, and humidity control.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service to support optimal system performance.
• Identify equipment issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Complete work in compliance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes.
• Explain system conditions, repair options, and recommendations to homeowners.
• Provide professional, high-quality customer service on every service call.
